Daniel Ellis Roe

Daniel Ellis Roe was the son of Daniel Roe and Mary Ann Blanch. He was born in the parish of St. James, Westminster, in 1853. In 1861 he was 8 years old and living with his parents, brothers and sisters at 2 Great Crown Court, Westminster. Both his parents died in 1870 and, as noted in an earlier post, in 1871 he and his siblings (with the exception of his youngest brother Joseph) were living with their maternal grandmother Kezia Blanch at 52 Broad Street, Westminster. Daniel was now 17 and working as an engineer.

There is an 1881 record for Daniel Roe, age 28, born in Westminster, serving as a soldier with Corps of Royal Engineers and stationed at their South Camp in Aldershot, Hampshire.

Daniel Ellis Roe died in 1890, at the age of 36, in Chelsea. As far as we know, he was unmarried.
